Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data SchoolEasy handles, why, and the choices you have. It’s written with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) in mind.
1. Who we are
SchoolEasy provides school management software to schools. For the records a school keeps about its students, parents, and staff, the school is the data controller and SchoolEasy processes the data on the school’s behalf. For our own website and sales enquiries, SchoolEasy is the controller.
2. Data we handle
- Contact details such as names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Student records such as admission numbers, classes, attendance, scores, and report cards.
- Fee records such as invoices and payment status. Card details go to Paystack, not to us.
- Messages, notices, lesson notes, and files that users create in SchoolEasy.
- Technical data such as sign-in times and device push tokens for notifications.
3. How we use it
We use personal data only to run SchoolEasy for the school: to sign people in, show each role the information it’s allowed to see, send notifications and text messages, process fee payments, and support the school. We don’t sell personal data or use it for advertising.
4. Service providers
We use providers for payments (Paystack), text messages, email, file storage, live video, and push notifications. They process data only to provide their service to us.
5. Security and retention
Each school’s records are kept separate from every other school’s, access depends on the user’s role, and passwords are stored only as secure hashes. We keep data for as long as the school uses SchoolEasy and then delete or return it as agreed with the school.
6. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your personal data. If your request is about a school’s records, contact the school first; we’ll help them respond. You can also contact us at hello@schooleasy.io. To close your SchoolEasy account, follow the steps on Delete your account.
7. Children
Schools add student records, and parents and guardians can see their own children’s information. Schools are responsible for having the consent they need to add children’s data.
